aato is delighted to present its inaugural exhibition: Shapes and Paintings, sculptural work by Shun Kadohashi. For his first exhibition in France, Kadohashi, who lives and works in a small fishing village at the southern tip of the Bosô peninsula in Japan, has created 17 unique pieces. They include bold coloured plates, a rough primitive-style teapot and a group of sculptures that defy purpose or function. To accompany this debut exhibition, aato has published Unearth 001: Shun Kadohashi, a book that surveys a selection of recent works and explores the artist’s creative process through an in-depth conversation with painter Mengyun Han.
